Mermaid-for-hire, Sandy, performs at Camille's birthday party. When she later finds Camille hiding in her trunk, Sandy knows she should take her home. But Camille believes she's a real mermaid. Flattered, Sandy brings Camille to her next gig at a mermaid bar. Sandy is offended when Camille doesn't take her performance seriously. Camille reveals she knows Sandy isn't a real mermaid. Once the truth is out, the pair are able to see each other honestly. Their connection is the real magic, and they unite to walk out into the waves.
